One Response to HP-Compaq dc7700 with Ubuntu Linux

I’m using an HP DC 7700 and am trying to get ubuntu installed and working properly. The first issue I”m having is with my diamond hd 6670 video card. If I try to boot the computer with the card in I get a screen of color lines and can’t see what is going on. I am switching to ubuntu because I’ve been having troubles with this machine since I first bought it. Namely with the Intel AMT ~ I bought the machine as a refurb and they had put windows 7 32 bit on it which of course HP never made drivers for the AMT for.

Anyways as of right now I have the Ubuntu 12.04 i-386. I guess my first question should be is this the correct OS for my machine?

I am completely new to Linux OS, but am sucking up information as quickly as I can about it.

Any help you are able to be/provide is GREATLY appreciated.
